|Things to know before tan
We offer 3 different shades of Spray Tanning. Light, Medium and Dark. The beautician will help you decide on which shade would suit you the best.
The Spray Tan lasts from 7day up to 14days with good aftercare. Using a moisturiser is essential.
After the tan
The Spray tan fades evenly, although in some cases it can differ (if you are on holiday using pool with chemicals, going the gym a lot, etc) So when you are ready to exfoliate the tan off, rub olive oil all over your body, leave it on for a good 5 minutes, then jump into the shower and its will come off very easily.
Spray tan with sensitive Skin or pregnancy?
If you have highly sensitive skin please double check with your doctor that spray tan will be ok. If you have had any allergic reactions or any medical problem after your previous spray tan then you must make us aware of this so we can discuss your options. In all situations, a pregnant or nursing woman should ask her doctor first before using any product. You can get more information about pregnancy and fake tan from NHS Direct.
How does it work?
The active ingredient is dihydroxyacetone (DHA causes a chemical reaction with the amino acids on the outer most layer of the skin. This reaction causes the colour of the skin to change. Producing a beautiful natural tan. DHA starts to react with the skin within 2 hours of the tan application and continues to do so for a total of 6 hours after which time you can wash.
Is spray tan safe?
Yes! According to the academy of Dermatology, the most effective products available are sunless or self-tanning products that contain dihydroxyacetone (DHA) as the active ingredient. DHA has been used in cosmetic preparations for almost 30 years and was listed with the FDA in 1973. It is declared safe and suitable for use in cosmetics and drugs used to colour the skin. DHA is derived from glycerine (Vegetable origin), which is a commonly used cosmetic and food ingredient. DHA is not absorbed in to the body and poses no possibility of toxicity.
